Routine

Routines keep our life organized and a little stress free in my opinion. It can seem mondane, boring and repetitive but for me it keeps me on track so that I get all my tasks done. I don't always have time for everything but I get the important things done. This morning I wasn't thrilled about my routine and therefore I'm going to share what my days consist of.

Monday: wake up, get ready, eat breakfast, go to the dog park, go to work, come home, figure out something for dinner, crochet, sometimes clean, workout (while my husband goes to the dog park), shower, bedtime

Tuesday and Wednesday: wake up, get ready, eat breakfast (hubby goes to the dog park), go to work, come home, cook dinner, crochet, workout (husband at the dog park), shower, bedtime

Thursday and Friday: wake up, get ready, eat breakfast, back to the dog park, go to work, come home, dinner, crochet, try to clean, workout (hubby back at the dog park, shower and bedtime

Saturday: get up, half get ready, go to the dog park, watch nephew for the rest of the day which consists of cartoons, naps, PB & J, very little cleaning and a cute little guy :-)

Sunday: sleep in, eat breakfast (hubby at the dog park), relax, go to church, drive to my moms for the best Sunday dinner

As you might notice, we go to the dog park a lot and my days are pretty full since I work full time. This has been my routine for the past year and a half without much change. Although all of this fills up my day without much extra time I wouldn't change it for the world. Sometimes I complain and wish I had more me time but when I look at a life like mine, I can't help but be greatful.

Resolutions...

(Photo from bodyrock.tv t-shirt)

At the start of every New Year millions of people make resolutions that usually aren't kept. I am not one of those people. I don't make New Year's resolutions because of the high failure rate. With that said, I did make goals for 2012 and I like to think that goals have a higher success rate. My goal first and foremost this year was to become healthier this year and exercise more. I had started to watch what I ate in December and lost 9 pounds (yes I had gained some newlywed weight) but I hit a plateau and couldn't lose any more. So I started to follow bodyrock.tv which posts 12 minute interval workouts and healthy food choices. They started a 30 day challenge January 1st so I decided to change my eating habits even more and began this challenge. I will be the first to admit that I haven't done  every single workout but I am seeing results. The 12 minute workouts are great since it doesn't take a huge chunk of time out of my day but they still work up a sweat. Since starting this challenge I have lost 2 pounds and some inches I'm sure. This has been such a great challenge and I know that this will only make my quality of life better. Let's all make goals, no resolutions, and make them a reality.

Eat it up

I believe that an important part of marriage is courtship. Yes obviously if you are married you have all done this already but does that mean when you get married you can't be asked out on a date or get picked up for a movie night? It most certainly should not! Granted me and my husband are not great at this due to our work schedules, we try and Friday was date night. We got off work, got semi dressed up and headed out to P.F. Chang's. This has recently become our new favorite place to eat since you don't walk out of there feeling 10 pounds heavier. Of course we got the Chicken Lettuce Wraps, since it is practically the best thing on the menu in my opinion, Mongolian Beef and Sweet & Sour Chicken. We enjoyed the meal and each other before paying our tab and heading to get some frozen yogurt. We browsed the flavors of yogurt before us, contemplating which one should fill our cups, before we brought our yogurt home and snuggled together, eating our treat and watching Inception. These dates aren't as frequent as they should be in our household but when one comes around, it is the best!

Ready, Set....GO!

My first post... Well this blog is going to be a collection of my opinions, thoughts, ideas and events going on in my life. So lets dive into a little about who I am. As you know, my name is Amanda Sisson and I'm a wife in her twenties. In 2009 I bought my first house in Henderson, NV and was super excited about it but now I can't wait to move. In 2010 I got married to my hunky hubby Justin and we adopted 3 dogs. I work at a doctors office doing medical billing and Justin works for Dish Network as a technician. I am a bit OCD at times, found a recent love of crochet and I enjoy home improvement projects. I welcome you to The Siss Mix and hope you enjoy reading.
