E is for...

Entertainment

Oh the things we find entertaining amazes me sometimes. From YouTube videos to people watching is all a form of entertainment for us. I mean who doesn't love to laugh?

Seeing as most forms of common entertainment like movies, shows, plays and recreational events can kinda be expensive, I like to find all the free entertainment I can!

People watching has got to be the best form of free laughter. I don't know why this amuses me so much but I think it's mostly the mannerisms that I get a kick out of.

Have you ever tried to guess the age of a person by only seeing the backside of them? Try it and you will be amazed about how off you can be.

What is your favorite form of free entertainment?

D is for...

     Dear

     Dear hubby,
You are the greatest and I am the luckiest girl for snatching you up. I know we have our ups and downs but you are always there, loving me no matter what. I want you to know you are the world to me and I am so excited to experience life with you for eternity. You are my very best friend and couldn't ask for more. Love you.

     Dear pups,
I love you dearly but will you please stop digging in the yard?! I hate scolding you and picking up your mess so stop this madness and we will both reap the benefits. If you could also stop bring in every single leaf in the house I would appreciate it.

     Dear parents,
If you are reading this I am surprised, mostly because you navigated around the Internet yourself and got to my blog. I love you dearly. You raised me right and I think I have turned out alright. Thank you for everything you did to raise me to who I am today.

     Dear blog readers,
Thank you for stopping by my blog and reading. Every page view and comment makes my day a little brighter. I hope you are not bored with my posts and can only hope that my writing become more and more enjoyable. I am thankful for every single reader!

C is for...

     Caring

Caring is feeling or showing care and compassion. We protect, defend and fight for the things/people we care about. Some care more about their job and car while others care more about their family or people in need.

Caring is universal as we all have something near and dear to our heart that we would never want anything to happen to. Most of us could write long lists about the things we care about but what would you put at the top of that list?

Would it be your family? Your spouse? Your animals? Your job? Your car? Yourself? I would say my family makes the top of my list, I would give the world for them.

What's at the top of your list?

Why only two days?

Seriously, why are weekends only 2 days long? It is ridiculous to think that after working 5 days that 2 days off is enough to rejuvenate. I think it should be evened out to 4 days work with 3 days off. Right?

OK, now that we got that rant out of the way, let's see what filled my busy weekend.

My brother and I joined forces on Saturday and had a Yard Sale so basically all last week I spent cleaning out my garage. I got up at 5:30 (ya, 5:30 on a Saturday!) to get ready and put all our stuff out that we wanted to sell. Before we knew it 6:40 rolled around, the first car stopped by and it had begun.

I had never done a yard or garage sale before so I was unsure as to what to expect. Let me tell you, some people are down right cheap! Not to sound snotty but when a lady gets all huffy when you tell her that brand new dress with the tags still on it is only $5 that's all I could think... Nevertheless I learned to shrug off those comments and stuck to my guns on the prices.

We ended our sale at 1pm and cleaned up since unfortunately we didn't sell everything. I was exhausted and sun burnt but we had more to do. Since we had gained a bit of cash I wanted to show hubby the plate set I've had my eyes on (since hubby is still off work with that shoulder injury we actually get to do stuff together).

Let's just say I have expensive taste so we ended up just getting an insulated cup my nephew wanted and hubs got one too.

I was so glad to just relax on Sunday and enjoy an uplifting General Conference. I had Chili Verde (recipe coming soon) cookin in the crock pot as me and the hubs enjoyed the talks given by our church leaders.

But here we are at Monday again. I tell you two day weekends are not enough. I dragged my hind parts to work this morning while Justin went in for his MRI. In another week we will know if he needs surgery or not, I'm crossing my fingers.

B is for...

  Be
'To be, or not to be: that is the question' as Shakespeare put it and I'm going with 'To be.' Since the beginning of the year is when most people make resoultions, goals and plans for the year to come I would like to focus on the things I want to be, present or future.
  • Be joyous
  • Be honest
  • Be outgoing
  • Be inspired
  • Be inspiring
  • Be thoughtful
  • Be helpful
  • Be creative
  • Be funny
  • Be healthy
  • Be independent
  • Be caring
  • Be a role model

These are a few out of many but most of all be happy is my number one. What is at the top of your 'be' list?

Challenge

This post was meant to be posted yesterday but life got in the way so here it goes...

If you haven't noticed this icon on the right-hand side of my page here it is. I signed up for the 2012 A-Z Challenge soon after I started this little blog as I wanted to get my fingers moving and into the blogging vibe.

This is how the challenge works: everyday, except Sunday, in April I will have a post that correlates with a letter of the alphabet starting with A and ending with Z. That's it but don't you worry, there will be regular life posts mixed in.

My first post can be found here and there will be 25 more to follow. Hope I can keep you interested throughout this challenge and comments/suggestions are always welcome.

A is for...

     Amazing

Amazing is defined as causing great surprise or sudden wonder. Our perception of this word changes as the world changes around us. How? Let's explore...

As children we thought our parents, grandparents, toys, playtime, animals and cartoons are all amazing. We would find the smallest and/or simplest things to be just awesome.

As teenagers we thought technology was amazing. Cell phones, laptops, Ipods and the Internet was our playground. We were fascinated and engulfed in the advancement of the technical world and all the gadgets we had at our fingertips.

As a young adult we still find technology amazing along with a greater respect for our elders. It amazes us what struggles they had to endure to get where they are. As we move out on our own our appreciation for the lessons our parents taught us and the struggles they went through for us becomes a resource.

As we become parents and grandparents what amazes us? I can't say as I'm not there yet but I am sure technology will still be one of them along with what our children and grandchildren will be able to teach us.

We all find different things to be amazing in our lives. People, places and all sorts of things come to mind and they are constantly changing. So, what is amazing to you today?
